This last two weeks have seen the launch of two new Digital Transactional Services.

Report a blocked grid’ was built in the same way as ‘Report a faulty street light’ which is why we have been able to roll it out so quickly.

‘Book an appointment to register a birth online’  is the first of our new features linking residents directly with our Registrars’ appointment booking system and we hope to follow this very soon with ‘Book an appointment to register a death online’.

Making two new products go live on schedule was an especially great achievement over a period of time which included the ‘WannaCry’ ransomware hack. Although we weren’t directly affected, the preventative work we did still created a lot of disruption to our internet access and systems and we are grateful for all the support given by our IT teams.

Groups Feature

Our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) team continues to improve the Groups feature, adding ‘location suggestion’ to the filters, printable pages and the option to save pages as pdf’s. We have also linked up our Events and Groups listings so:

  • Groups hosting an event will include a link to the relevant event page
  • Events organised by a group will include a link back to the group’s page

Our next task is to create a ‘Manage your group’ login for group organisers.

Case Management and Booking Systems

The new online booking for Registrar appointments was built on the reusable booking system that our Case Management and Bookings team have put in place over the last few months.

This was piloted firstly by Local Advice Centres in April, before being rolled out to Registrars and Contact Centre staff in early May.

The team are also completing all the work required for the new case management system Verint to go live.

Single View

We continue to test the usability of our new ‘Signposts’ dashboard with both the Stockport Family MASSH team (Multi Agency Safeguarding and Support Hub) and a pilot team in Brinnington who are testing new integrated ways of working within a locality. More people have now been set up with access to the interface.

We are also continuing to bring in new data sets to the application.

Recruitment

We are still recruiting developers so if you would like to join us on our Digital by Design journey, please get in touch.
